How to groom a Lhasa apso

Lhasa Apso requires routine grooming and bathing in order to maintain their thick and dense coat.

The bathing process should begin with the proper selection of products to match the pet’s needs in order to give them an enjoyable experience.

When bathing, use a downward motion to apply shampoo and conditioner and use a slightly cool water temperature for the final rinse.

After the bath, blot the coat with a towel and use a downward motion to remove excess water. For drying, it is best to lay the dog on its side and dry in layers or line dry the coat.

Once dry, the coat should be parted from head to tail and set with a parting comb or end of a metal comb. To complete the grooming, spray the part with a hydrating conditioner and gently pat the coat. If weekly brushing and bathing are not feasible,

then a shorter trim can be opted for with routine maintenance with a bath and brush every 2 to 3 weeks.
